As the Lead Designer on this AI-powered mining support product, I was responsible for driving the end-to-end design processāfrom discovery to delivery. I began by deeply understanding how the plant operates, reviewing past solutions, and identifying key pain points faced by engineers on the ground. I implemented a full Design Thinking approach, starting with stakeholder and engineer interviews, research, and problem definition. Through multiple workshops and collaboration sessions, we aligned on critical challenges and opportunities. I then mapped out user journeys, user stories, and system diagrams, followed by iterative wireframing and prototyping. The solution leveraged Co-pilot technology, integrated seamlessly with the Microsoft Teams Design System and the clientās internal design system. The result was a proactive AI tool that empowers engineers to anticipate and resolve issues before they escalateāreducing maintenance time and improving overall plant efficiency.
